Gelato sandwiches are designed for Table Caffe. / Provide photos

No one has ever flinched on Twitter or in Table's kitchen. The award-winning family-style restaurant she owns in the north end, Jen Royle is bold. So when she learned that there was a sandwich shop across the street from her restaurant and the neighboring Table Mercato (an Italian market she opened at the height of the pandemic), it’s not surprising, “I’m Jumped in," she said. The result will be Table Caffé, which is an "Italian candy paradise" that can be opened only after waiting for the last inspection. In addition to the complete espresso menu, Table Caffé will also contain all the existing candies in the Table world, and Royle will add new ice cream. This self-taught dinner host (she hates to be called a "chef") has been using ice cream machines imported from Italy to develop her ice cream making technology, and she has tested more than a dozen flavors of recipes. Looking forward to trying her spoon on a homemade waffle cone, in a cup decorated with biscuits, or sandwiched in a stuffed brioche, like the Sicilian cuisine Royle has been craving since traveling there last January Same. Hey, when Jen Royle wants something, she tends to achieve it.

The best classic New England general store starts with the local community-of course, this modern iteration of Somerville's fashionable Union Square will have a bar. From the people behind the Vinal Bakery next door, the Vinal General Store will provide seating space for you to enjoy beer, wine and soft drinks with New England nostalgia (hello, Polar Beverages and the entire collection of glass bottles Moxie) next to the classic and redesigned Deli food menu ready. At the same time, a selection of bar snacks will highlight the store’s retail merchandise: “I call them New England-style appetizers,” said General Manager Chloe Nolan, noting such things as homemade clam dipping sauce paired with cape. Choice of cod chips. When you just need to bring something to take home, you will find the shelves full of pantry staples from all over New England (think: Tandem coffee beans and plenty of maple syrup), as well as Vinal’s iconic English pine Cakes and other baked goods, Make & Mend art supplies, greeting cards, old-fashioned sweets and snacks are all available. Vinal General should open in early January.

Levain Bakery’s signature biscuits, filled with chocolate chips and walnuts, were originally created by the founders as fuel for their triathlon training-a slight touch of a boutique bakery chain based on six-ounce dessert decadence Ironic origin story. Future Boston Marathon runners will have to report on the ability of these biscuits to maintain speed, because the 26-year-old bakery established in New York will open its first branch in New England in February on Newbury Street. There, the open kitchen will produce fresh daily delicacies, including five mouth-watering biscuit flavors, blueberry muffins, cinnamon butter brioche, banana chocolate chip bread cake and various fresh breads. Brian Moy of Nomai. / Photo by Danh Nguyen

The name Nomai refers to a deep-rooted Japanese tree, which fits Brian Moy’s latest statement: After all, the restaurant owner’s family has been operating the iconic Pearl of China in Boston’s Chinatown for decades, and Moy established two locations. Come to expand the business. His Shojō restaurant accounts for one-third of the project at 425 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge. (He is also behind the closed Ruckus noodle restaurant in Chinatown; its reopening time is yet to be determined.) Now Moy is planting Nomai in Hingham, just outside the city. A new American restaurant with a pan-Asian flavour, looking forward to a destination for date nights and family celebrations, it offers raw bar products, shareable small plates and larger shared portions. Head to the former country kitchen space of the Derby Street store. Nomai is Moy's largest project to date (excluding his multi-storey pastry house) and will have a year-round terrace.

Charles River Raceway. / Photo by DF Pray Marketing

Last summer, a batch of quaint one-off stables, auto repair shops and offices in Brighton reopened as a revitalized Charles River Raceway market. The first is a new location for Notch Brewing, which has attracted many locals to see the Architectural Heritage Foundation’s latest vision for one of Boston’s historic buildings. Next up: The new location of Somerville's Tipping Cow Ice Cream, the past winner of Boston's Best Award, opens on the track on Friday, December 10. License-related and other delays have hindered the launch of other culinary concepts, including The Koji Club, the long-awaited clearing bar by O Ya alumni Alyssa Mikiko DiPasquale, now set to launch in January. Hummus v'Hummus is the new concept of The Chubby Chickpea and Simcha chef Avi Shemtov, which will be opened before the arrival of refrigeration equipment. Another supplier we can’t wait to visit is Super Bien, a “grocery store” from Buenas, an outstanding local Latin food brand, which already has a kiosk at Somerville's Bow Market. According to the founder and Miami native Melissa Stefanini (Melissa Stefanini), the construction of the track site is still in progress, and when the place finally opens, she promised some "1990s/South Florida/ VIBES". Super Bien will sell Spanish wines, plus selected snacks made with Buenas products, flan from La Flanateria, and a customized hot food mini menu, including Buenas' signature empanadas. However, before Super Bien reaches the end, Stefanini is raising US$35,000 through NuMarket, a crowdfunding platform. Once the project is launched, your investment will be returned in the form of store points.

High Street Plaza. /Photo by Brian Samuel Photography

After all the subsequent pandemic time delays, this huge financial district food hall finally-this time really-opened in March 2022. Since we first reported on this highly anticipated hodgepodge, some tantalizing newcomers have been announced. These include bubble baths, champagne bars and chef Tiffani Faison's third HSP concept for Big Heart Hospitality. At the same time, Kutzu is a new concept inspired by Asia that will warm us up with a bowl of pho and ramen. The third local location of the Jewish deli Mamaleh's is heading to the lobby, which will also provide a permanent home for the popular pop-up Lionheart Confections, a creative and craving donut shop designed by pastry chef Kate Holowchik . All in all, when High Street Place is ready, it will provide us with 19 cooking concepts.

One might think that developing three new concepts for the ambitious downtown food hall is enough to keep Tiffani Faison busy, but in fact, the celebrity chef also remodeled a restaurant near her in Fenway in 2022. Judging at Chopped kitchen studios is no big deal. ) Tiger Mama closed at the end of October to make way for the upcoming new concept. Faison has not disclosed any details at the moment, so maybe we are a little optimistic about the schedule, but at least we are highly looking forward to the news of what will happen to one of the best famous Boylston Street spaces in Boston this winter.
