Industrial architecture and past visions meet in the evocative new NH Collection Venezia Murano Villa Hotel by NH Hotels Group. Located in the former "Fornace De Majo" glass factory, this new four-star hotel welcomes guests to a truly unique setting on the island of Murano in the Venetian Lagoon.
The design concept of the H&A Associati architectural studio in Venice is reminiscent of the origin of one of the earliest glass products in Murano and brings this ancient art closer to the design world. The complex of 12 original buildings was preserved as a reminder of the entire production cycle, and throughout the hotel, the traces of previous use are intact: exposed concrete walls, steel plates, furnace-shaped windows, exposed installations and even art Products and art glass products. From the beginning, the challenge was to transform the entire structure from a manufacturing site to a hospitable place, and to provide all the comfort and services needed to make the guest experience truly memorable. This is why in the long process of redesigning the space, several premium brands have collaborated with architecture studios: from Artemide, which created a series of special glass and metal lamps based on the study of torches used in traditional furnaces, to Rubelli, which Use typical Venetian fabrics inspired by the colors of the lagoon to decorate the restaurant’s armchairs and curtains; don’t forget the Zucchetti taps in the room, chairs and tables by Saba Italia and Calligaris, outdoor furniture by Varaschin and fitness equipment by Technogym.
The total area of the building is about 4800 square meters, from the main entrance of Fondamenta Navagero (opposite the Glass Museum and San Donato Cathedral) to the opposite, overlooking the Venetian Lagoon. The beating heart is the central courtyard, from where guests can admire the entire complex, as well as enter the suites and hotel restaurant.
