Insulation jacketing is an outer covering that is wrapped around tubing or pipe insulation to shield the insulation from moisture, wear, and mechanical damage. The insulation jacket has many functions; it keeps the core warm and dry, protects against puncture and abrasion, prevents overheating and melting of the inner layer of thermal protection, in turn extending its life span.

Not only does insulation jacketing provide protection for your existing equipment, but also helps in preventing oxidation and corrosion of the components. 

It also protects the insulation from damage due to abrasive forces such as sand abrasion. As a result of this, you can use your product more efficiently which leads to reduced energy consumption and lower operating costs.

Insulation jacketing protects tubing or pipe insulation from moisture, wear, and mechanical damage. If you buy the wrong type of product, such as polyurethane foam, it will eventually become brittle and crack due to UV exposure and age. The cracks allow moisture to penetrate into the insulation and corrode it.

These jackets provide significant protection against UV light leakage because they are less rigid than glass fiber jackets; they also provide impact cushioning around fiber optic connectors. Also known as protective tubing, these insulating jackets protect the base materials of electrical wire insulation tubes against damage that could lead to fires or short circuits

Jacketing is used to protect and preserve the insulations such as foam, rock wool, and mineral wool. Jacketing is an essential part of mechanical insulation.
